Amy Schumer has always discussed her infertility problems openly. However, the “I Feel Pretty” actress recently revealed that she had her uterus removed due to her struggles with endometriosis. It is a condition in which a tissue, usually found in the uterus, starts developing in other parts of the body; causing unbearable pain in the pelvic area during periods.
The 40-years-old actress and comedian, Amy Schumer announced the news via an Instagram video post-surgery. She was still lying on her hospital bed while filming the video. Her husband, Chris Fischer was also present with her at that time.
Further, she explained that the doctor found 3 spots of endometriosis in Amy’s body. Moreover, he had to remove her appendix as the endometriosis has attacked it too. Besides that, she said that her uterus was all bloody and she is having gas pains along with some sores. Well, her condition is stable and she is recovering slowly.
The next day, Amy Schumer posted another video just to raise awareness regarding endometriosis. She said that it is an extremely painful and debilitating condition. People need not live with it. The operation procedure is a bit messy but it is all that you need.
Moreover, Amy said that she is trying to recover and hoping that the procedure will make her life easier ahead. She also wrote that women have the right to live pain-free life. And we are not even denying it. Besides that, she also posted a mirror selfie in her hospital gown. She also mentioned the fact that if someone is having extremely painful periods, they might have endometriosis.
