Despite the fact that on January 21, 2022 and in the days before there were a series of celebrations on the occasion of the 18th birthday of Ingrid Alexandra from Norway, the main course had to wait almost 5 months due to the pandemic situation. Thus, on June 16, 2022, the Government of Norway honored Princess Ingrid Alexandra with a gala dinner, and a day later Kings Harald and Sonia were the hosts of a gala dinner in style that took place in the Royal Palace in Oslo.
Ingrid Alexandra of Norway with the Boucheron tiara, gala dress and decorations in a pose for her 18th birthday
Before the agape began, the Norwegian Royal House distributed three official images. Princess Ingrid Alexandra posed in the Bird Room accompanied by her closest family, that is, her parents, Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit, her brothers, Marius Borg and Prince Sverre Magnus, and her grandparents, Kings Harald and Sonia of Norway and Marit Tjessem. As the honoree, Ingrid Alexandra of Norway appears in the middle, with King Harald on one side and Queen Sonia on the other. Behind are the Crown Prince, the Crown Princess and Magnus, while on the sides are Mette-Marit’s mother and Marius Borg.
It was striking that the Norwegian royal women opted for sustainability and recycled dresses. Ingrid Alexandra of Norway wore a dress that her mother had worn when the Emperors of Japan visited Norway in 2005, once again pulling from the Crown Princess’ wardrobe as for her posing with tiara and decorations shown hours before. In the case of Princess Mette-Marit, her dress has also been in her closet for some time, as has Queen Sonia’s striking yellow, which remains with her when she was 60 years old.

The other image taken in the same room is historic because five heirs or future heirs of Europe pose for the first time in it. They are Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway, Princess Amalia of the Netherlands, Princess Elisabeth of Belgium, Princess Estelle of Sweden and Prince Charles of Luxembourg, who at the age of two was the youngest guest at this gala dinner. It was the second time that Ingrid Alexandra of Norway was seen with a tiara, the Boucheron that belonged to her great-great-grandmother, Ingeborg of Sweden, while it was the debut for the Princess of Orange, with the star-studded tiara worn by her mother, Máxima de Holland, at her wedding to Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, and for the Duchess of Bravante, who surprised her with a large tiara of unknown origin.
9 Royal Houses in one photo
And of course the family photo, of the royal family, was not lacking. As there were so many, they went to the Lille Festsal to be able to pose together in this intergenerational meeting not seen in a long time. And there you could see members of 7 reigning Royal Houses of Europe, that is, all except the United Kingdom, Monaco and Liechtenstein, as well as members of two other non-reigning Royal Houses, the Bulgarian, who came out of friendship with the family of the Crown Prince, and the Greek, due to its importance despite the fall of the Monarchy, its close ties and perhaps also because it belongs to the same dynasty as the Norwegian Royal House, the Glücksburg.
