Imagine binging on a show and then you realise that you’ve hit the last episode. You google the release date of next season and you realise it’s already out but your streaming platform doesn’t have it yet. That’s exactly the case with The Flash Season 7 on Netflix. However, there’s good news for fans of the show – Season 7 is arriving sooner than they think.
Set in the DC Universe, The Flash tells the story of forensic scientist Barry Allen. After suffering a fatal lightning accident that could fry anyone’s insides, Barry comes out unharmed. He realises that he can now run faster, even faster than light.Source – Netflix
A metahuman now, Barry decides to become the crime-fighting speedster named “The Flash”. However, he’s not the only metahuman in the universe, as he meets new friends and foes.
Cast and Release Date
Season 7 would’ve arrived way sooner on Netflix if not for the pandemic. The pandemic halted production and pushed back its original CW release, which in turn delayed its Netflix release. With CW airing the season from March 2, 2022, Netflix has announced that Season 7 will hit the streaming platform on July 28 sharp at 12:01 a.m. PT and 3:00 a.m. ET.
Season 7 will again feature Grant Justin as Barry Allen. Other cast members include Candice Patton (Iris West), Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow), Carlos Valdes (Cisco Ramon), Jesse L Martin (Joe West), Tom Cavanagh (a different Harrison Wells), Danielle Nicolet (Cecile Horton), etc.
Season 6 started with The Monitor informing Barry that The Flash had to die to save the lives of billions. With fans thinking it was the end for Barry, Wesley Shipp’s version died instead of Barry. Season 7 picks up from the same place that Season 6 ended. Dor is still loose. The first 3 episodes of Season 7 are the last 3 of Season 6, which got cut short due to the pandemic. Showrunner Eric Wallace said that Dor’s story needs to be done with, so we’d see Dor again.
It won’t be wrong to say that The Flash established the DC Multiverse, opening opportunities for various character introductions and developments. It will be interesting to see what the creators have in mind for the dressed-in-red speedster.
