Objects stolen from church dedicated to the Immaculate Conception recovered

A few days ago, the local police recovered a series of valuable objects that were stolen from the parish of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, in Brazil.

On March 23, the Federal District Military Police said in a statement that military police officers from the Operational Tactical Group recovered some objects that were stolen from a local parish.

It is the parish of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, in Sobradinho, 20 kilometers from Brasilia (Brazil), which on March 10 suffered the theft of various objects.

In the statement, the police said that they received an anonymous tip about the whereabouts of the objects, so they came on March 22 at 8:00 pm to investigate the case. “According to the complaint, the stolen products were in a house of the Nova Petrópolis Condominium, in Sobradinho”, he indicated.

He pointed out that when they arrived at the condominium “they saw a man running inside a residence”, they chased him “and they approached two men who were in front of the house”. Although they did not find anything illegal with the subjects, the vehicle used on the day of the robbery was in the house.

Later, the police contacted the neighbor and she said that she did not know the origin of the vehicle and that the suspect was the son of the resident of the house, who then authorized the search of the house.

During the inspection, the police found the stolen objects and sent photos to the parish priest of the Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church to corroborate if they were the belongings, and the priest confirmed that they were from his parish.

In the house were found “freezers, glasses, cutlery and even clothing used by the priests in the celebrations” parish, which in total were worth a little more than 3 thousand dollars.

Police said the three suspects were taken to the police station and said they bought the stolen items from a settlement; later, they were charged with improper reception.
