Las Vegas, Nevada – With investigations still at pace, Metro has announced an arrest in one of the two murder cases in valley’s east side.
The incident took place at a residence near Eastern and Oakey. A man arrived at the house and got into an argument with the owner of the house. The dispute soon heated up and the man shot the owner dead and fled away.
On Friday morning, Las Vegas Metro Police revealed that a suspect has now been arrested.
Sequence of Events before and after the Murder
John Anthony Carrillo(29) has been arrested. Police said that Carrillo had arrived at the victim’s residence to make a deal involving narcotics. Upon entering the house, Carrillo shot and killed the victim, stole a white Nissan Altima from the same place, and fled from the scene.
The Las Vegas Metro Police arrested Carrillo in the 300 block of East Silverado Ranch Boulevard following a violent shootout that took place in Henderson Police Department’s jurisdiction.
Police said that further investigation revealed that Carrillo had been a part of multiple criminal activities that happened in a small span of the last 5 days. The police are questioning Carrillo, suspecting his involvement at a recent convenience store shooting near Lamb and Charleston.
One Dead and Multiple Injured in Another Incident
A residence near Craig and Lamb witnessed another similar incident right before noon. According to authorities, a group of people from the same business had been invited to watch a scheduled fight between two colleagues.
In the middle of the fight, one person supporting a fighter opened fire at the audience. It resulted in one man’s death and injuring two others. Another injured person had to seek medical assistance at North Vista Hospital.
The police are looking for two Hispanic males aged somewhere between 19-23. Anyone who can assist the investigation is urged to contact Metro’s Homicide Division.
