13-Year-Old Boy Dies in School During Football Practice
A 13-year-old student from Legacy High School, Las Vegas, died after football practice. The boy, Cajetan Chinoyelum Nsofor, was a member of the freshman football team. According to the authorities, Cajetan died during a football practice. He was pronounced dead at 7:40 PM. Nobody at that point in time was able to figure out the reason behind his death. A parent from the school confirmed that Cajetan lost his life while football practice.
Cajetan was popularly known as “Chino” in school. However, the Clark County Office is examining this matter. They are trying to find out the reason behind Cajetan’s death. Medical officers are performing some toxicology and histology tests. Additional tests will also be conducted if required.
Statements from the Eye Witness and the Authorities
Brittany Thorp, a parent of two students at Legacy High School said that her son and Chino were friends since the sixth grade. It is very traumatizing for her to see such a young boy dying in front of her eyes. Brittany saw the incident happening in front of her. She was the parent who saw Cajetan dying on the football field. Brittany expressed her concern for other kids too who saw Cajetan dying in school. The Clark County School District (CCSD) also expressed its grief at the situation.
Principal Expresses his Grief and Condolence
Legacy High School Principal, Kenneth Sobaszek announced that Cajetan died of a medical emergency. He sent a letter to his parents at school.
Kenneth expressed his condolence for Cajetan and his family. Moreover, he requested the parents to talk to their children about their emotional and mental status. He has asked the parents to keep a check on their child’s behavior.
