Pope Francis will consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Friday, March 25, during a penitential celebration in St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.
This was reported on March 15 by the director of the Holy See Press Office, Matteo Bruni.
“On Friday, March 25, during the penitential celebration that he will preside over at 5:00 p.m. in St. Peter’s Basilica, Pope Francis will consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary,” Bruni wrote.
The Vatican statement adds that “the same act, on the same day, will be performed” in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima (Portugal), by Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, pontifical almoner, “as envoy of the Holy Father.”
