The original film hit the theatres back in 1991. The movie stars Steve Martin as the eponymous father of a bride. He finds it tough coming to terms with the idea of letting go of his daughter.

The short clip promises “a very special reunion”. However, it does not make it clear whether it will be scripted or improvised. It also doesn’t tell whether it will be live or pre-recorded.
What Cast Members Can We Expect To See?
As of now, we know that the reunion is being done to benefit World Central Kitchen. It is a charity that ensures and works to keep people fed during times of crisis. These can be natural disasters or the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The reunion will be aired on Netflix, Facebook, and Youtube at 3 pm PT/6 pm ET on Friday 25th September. Meanwhile, you can check out the teaser clip below.
Was It Really A Suprise?
This announcement doesn’t come as a complete shock to eagle-eyed fans. This is because ‘Father of the Bride‘ producer Nancy Meyers revealed a new project in the work. She did so about two weeks ago (via Instagram).
“If he considered a wedding to be a lot, how would he react to 2020? Coming soon to the mobile in your hand,” she said. She was referring to Martin’s character, businessman George Banks.
