While there are many of the superheroes that are known around the world. But there is one that only a die-hard comic fan would know about. And that is Luke Cage, a.k.a Power Man. He is the latest superhero from the Marvel series. And he has his own Netflix series too.

  1. Luke Cage made his first appearance in 1972, but the editors were ordered to monetize the Blaxploitation movies. However, by the late 1970’s both Blaxploitation movies and Luke Cage’s popularities faded. 
  2. Quentin Tarantino did try to bring back Luke Cage in 1992, but it got rejected. Later, Marvel attempted to bring the character back, but the marketers suggested otherwise since no one knew. Marvel chucked the idea until Netflix came with the decision to make a series for him. 
  3. Nicolas Cage showed his immense love for the character Luke Cage by changing his name. His actual name is Nicolas Coppola
  4. Even though Luke Cage is pretty good with his superpowers, he has always been a team player. His solo comic couldn’t complete more than 50 issues. 
  5. Contrary to popular belief, Luke Cage has his powers. He is not just a muscle man taking matters in his hand. After he went through an experiment of Super Soldier Serum, he got that immense strength and cannot-cut-through skin. 
  6. Mike Colter went buff to play the role of Luke Cage. The series was his big-break. 
  7. Luke Cage wasn’t as famous as the rest of the Marvel heroes. He did make it through many of the Marvel video games. 
  8. It’s not just him but his jacket also. Even though his skin is unbreakable, his jacket is impenetrable too. The jacket also went through the same experiment as him. 
  9. Before the release of the series, people were unsure if Luke Cage would make it through. But with the first season, it received a good response. Some critics even said that the series was a portrait of street life.
  10. While Luke Cage seems indestructible, he is highly vulnerable to Adamantium. Well, it looks like everything has a downside. 


The series Luke Cage has brought a new superhero into the world from the streets. And fans have loved him!
