Johnny Depp recently approached the Court to shift the dates of the trial from early 2021 to mid-2021. He quoted the reason being that the shoot for his upcoming film Fantastic Beasts 3 was to start in October and the trail dates would clash with that.
However, as per the latest reports, ex-wife Amber Heard is opposing Depp’s plea. She said if the trial dates are moved, it will clash with her shooting schedule for the movie Aquaman 2.

A pic from the Studio, when @kirkhammett (of @metallica , obviously) brought the famous guitar, "Greeny" over for a visit… It is the '59 Les Paul, once owned and played for many, many moons, by the incredible Peter Green from early days of Fleetwood Mac!!! I was and remain, somewhat, in shock!!! An incredible experience!!! The painting on the wall is one I made of an old friend… My old dog, Mooh, who sadly passed away back when i was away on location filming, "Public Enemies". Last year, Johnny Depp filed a $50 million defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard. Johnny Depp filed documents in Court requesting a delay in the trial dates which was earlier scheduled from January 11 to January 28, 2021. He asked for the trial dates to be rescheduled to sometime in March-June 2021 as the shoot for Fantastic Beast 3 starts in October this year.
At that time, Amber Heard agreed to meet for the discussion of delays. However, her representatives have accused Depp of not making enough efforts to follow the trial dates. They further accused him of treating the judge as someone who has followed their requests without question.
The Aquaman star has argued in the documents filed that if Depp’s request is accepted that her shoot schedule would be at risk. She claims that the shoot for Aquaman 2 starts in February 2021 and it would clash with trial dates.
