The renewal of Season 2 was made official in late 2019. The filming of the show continued from ending of the year 2019 till March 2020. The shooting was postponed for 2 weeks but the date kept on pushing back. Presently, the production is scheduled to start on September 3. If there are no further delays, we can expect the show to land on the streaming service by early 2021.
Cast and What to Expect from the Next Season:
The show is ready to cast as Rose and Justin Chu Cary as Spears. The show will also expect Christine Lee as Kyungsun. The returnees list holds the name of John Hyams as sole showrunner and Sal Velez Jr as William.
The Black Summer is one of the prequels of Z-Nation. The official trailer of the show is not yet dropped by its streaming service. The production and filming were paused amid the coronavirus pandemic. We can expect the trailer to arrive a month before the release of the second season of the show.
Season 1 was having a nice ending without any cliffhangers. Thus, it took a lot of time to decide whether to have another season or not. In the same context, we may believe that the next season would take us into another timeline in the near future.
