Controversies and legal claims have surrounded Johnny Depp for two years now. His personal life with a former wife. Amber Heard has been in the news since 2017, and a lot of turmoil has taken place since then. Right from his divorce to various allegations of domestic violence and abuse, Depp has been surrounded by numerous claims.
The recent to add is the feud between a British tabloid with Depp. Popular tabloid, The Sun has allegedly reported about abuse over Heard by her husband, Depp in 2018.
Reportedly, Depp has sued the newspaper’s publisher News Group Newspapers and Dan Wootton. He is the Executive Editor over the article claiming that he was violent and abusive to his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
Since the trial is yet to start from July 7, the preliminary level trial went on, and the publishers alleged Depp over another issue- apparently, a drug abuse issue. Reportedly, they reported in the court that Depp could not provide adequate evidence (texts) for an underlying case of drug abuse where he was held along with his wife, Amber Heard in 2015 in the States itself.
Allegedly, Heard was abused by Depp after she spotted him gulping ‘happy pills’ down along with red wine and tried to intervene. This started a series of chaotic fights between the two which Depp has continuously been denying.
According to the actor. The two fought and got physical over an agreement which Heard didn’t agree too after their marriage. Although Depp’s lawyer, Mr David Sherborne, alleged that the actor didn’t find the texts ‘relevant’, the court is strict with its legal producers.
The case is to be heard in the coming week of July and Depp’s ex-partners. Winona Ryder and Vanessa Paradis have always been called to be witnesses to the case.
