The Coronavirus imposed lockdown has pushed people to adapt to work from home culture. From online classroom to online graduation ceremony even high profile Govt meetings are moved online.
In these circumstances, even award ceremonies have taken the online platform. Mitchelle Obama, Dr.Anthony Fauci, Miley Cyrus, and Tom Hanks were just a few names. Who were the participants in the re-imaginary virtual Webby Awards “WFH: Webbys From Home”, that held on Tuesday.
This year Webbys came with a new twist
But unlike most of the live-streamed ceremonies, the 2020 Webbys created a customized award show. For each winner which delightedly allowed them to deliver their five-word acceptance speech. Before they turn it over to the host Patton Oswalt’s opening monologue. Not only that audience was allowed to choose and pick which speech they wanted to watch first. Or they could just simply play a stream of featured moments.
Oswalt kept the audience engaged with his witty jokes
Webbys executive director Claire Graves in an interview told. That when they realized that they would have an internet based celebration instead of a live event. They briefed each other about providing the winners the same feeling.
That they would have if they came to the live Webby Awards. Oswalt returned as host for the event for a fourth year. He also joked about beating Ricky Gervais for having the hosting job because he had a stronger WiFi connection.

The 2020 winners hallmarked 5 words speeches all ranging from silly to sentimental. For example, Kristen Bell who jokingly admitted that she hates sloths. Whereas James Cordon thanked frontline medical workers. John Krasinski the host to Some good news telling the audience “You are the good news”.
The first speech that was submitted to the organizers came from the 17-year-old Webby person of the year winner Avi Schiffmann. The teen was honored for his site ncov2019.live that tracks the spread of COVID 19 around the world. Dr. Anthoni Fauci presented him with the award.
