Netflix has become one of the huge online streaming services in the world. Everyone loves watching Netflix shows and movies online. Many new movies and shows are released here and the fans pay and watch. This online streaming platform has become very famous in a very short period of time.
Inactive Members Will Be Kicked Out
A time-honoured tradition at the subscriptions services, hoping lapsed customers do not realise that they are still paying every month. The company recently said on Thursday that they will now be checking inactive members. The inactive members will automatically be losing their subscription if they do not respond immediately. Netflix said ‘We are asking everyone who has not watched on Netflix anything for a year, they should confirm about their membership’. This was said by Eddy Wu, who oversees the product innovation.
This new feature will be starting very soon. The alert message or the notifications will be starting from this week itself. The people who have not watched anything for more than two years, will start getting emails. This will be made or done to alert the Netflix subscriptions so they can know what they want to do in future.
Netflix Will Have Potential Subscribers
Losing more subscriptions should not be a hit for Netflix. Some of the inactive accounts make up less than 1% of their subscriber base. This could even be fewer than a hundred thousand, said by Wu. That also means that this move could also provide some pain-free goodwill for Netflix. Also some anxiety for all the subscriptions services out there which are trying to lie low.
This is a good step taken by Netflix and now they will come to know who is active and who are not. Doing this will also help them to know the fan base of their subscribers. Netflix is also more sure to earn goodwill with their existing and potential subscribers.
