The popular Irishman and Boardwalk Empire star Stephen Graham have landed a role in another gangster drama. And this time, he is joining the cast of Peaky Blinders.
Graham was all set to take on a role in Season 6 of the BBC’s hit drama. However, currently, the Tiger Aspect and Caryn Mandabach Productions series did not begin shooting because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Graham revealed to the Pound For Pound podcast that he was supposed to be starting Peaky Blinders, but that has been put on hold indefinitely. His agent spent a lot of time putting that together. Meanwhile, he did not offer any details on his part.
Peaky Blinders season 6 expected release date in the UK
Previous seasons suggest that the sixth installment may land around the end of 2020, or early 2021. However, it’s not 100% clear as of now.
Meanwhile, Speaking about the show’s official podcast Obsessed With Peaky Blinders, director Anthony Byrne said that he has no idea when it would be out, maybe early 2021, something like that. However, the official release date has yet to be confirmed by the BBC.
How many episodes will the season have?
All the previous five seasons of the popular BBC series have had six episodes apiece. So, barring any significant shift, we expect the next installment also to follow that pattern.
Speculated Plotline and cast list for season 6
The season five climaxed with Tommy Shelby appearing to lose his mind and posed to kill himself. After being betrayed during his failed assassination attempt on Oswald Mosley, he was played by Sam Claflin. Claflin has been confirmed to return in season six by Byrne.
With such a thrilling cliffhanger, fans assume that season six will probably pick up where it left off. While Cillian Murphy will be back as Tommy Shelby, Helen McCrory, as Polly Gray. Alongside, Paul Anderson as Arthur Shelby, Finn Cole as Michael Gray, and Sophie Rundle as Ada Thorne.
