The wait for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness gets longer. Marvel recently announced a revised schedule for the upcoming MCU movies, in which it has delayed several films.
The release of Doctor Strange has also been pushed ahead four months, and now the dimension controlling sorcerer has to wait longer to conjure his spell.
Initially, the movie was set for a release in May 2021, and then it was pushed for an early November 2021 release.
Marvel and Disney have recently announced a delay for a second time, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is slated for March 25, 2022 release. It is easily the most anticipated film of MCU.
Why Has MCU Delayed Doctor Strange 2 For A Second Time?
Two primary reasons lead to a second delay in the theatrical release of Doctor Strange 2.
As you all can guess correctly, the first reason is the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The deadly coronavirus has halted the production and filming of almost all TV series and movies. It has forced everyone to stay indoors.
Tom Holland’s Spiderman 3 is the second reason for the delay. The November release, which was earlier set for Doctor Strange 2, has now been awarded to Spiderman 3. Hence, the third installment of Spiderman will hit the screen on November 5, 2021.
This delay can turn out to be a blessing in disguise for Sam Raimi as it will give him more time to make Doctor Strange a piece of art.
