Apparently, Jennifer Aniston was feuding with her mother Nancy Dow for so long. And some say that it meant that she was not on the wedding guest list. For one of Hollywood’s weddings of the decade.
Here’s what we know
Jennifer Aniston’s relationship with her mother was so strained that she didn’t invite her to her and Brad Pitt’s wedding. The 51-year-old Friends actress had earlier spoken about why she shunned her mom Nancy Dow from the big day. And why she went years without speaking to her.
Jen previously revealed that she didn’t meet the approval of her critical mother. Her mother was a model in the 1960s and also appeared in TV shows, The Beverly Hillbillies and The Wild Wild West.
Opening about her childhood years, Jen said that her mother was a model and she was all about presentation and what she looked like and what Jen looked like.
Jennifer had also said that because she didn’t turn out to be a model as well, it was difficult for her mother to connect with Jen.
Jen further revealed that she compared herself to a plus-size daughter of a former beauty queen. She claimed that did not come out the model child her mother hoped for. And it was something that really resonated with Jen.
Jen said about her childhood she was a little girl just wanting to be loved by a mom who was too occupied with things that didn’t quite matter.
During an interview with Elle in 2018, Jennifer claimed that her mother’s views of her were pretty harsh for the most part.
What created a wedge between them was when Nancy wrote a book about her relationship with Jennifer. And followed the publication of ‘From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir’ in 1999. Jennifer and her mother didn’t speak to each other for many years.
This meant that Jennifer didn’t invite her mother to her wedding with Brad Pitt. And she didn’t reconnect with her mother until just before she died in 2016.
