Coronavirus pandemic has already done a lot of damage. It has forced everyone to stay inside and now it is making the quarantine difficult. The entertainment industry is hit as severely as other sectors by the virus.
There were already many TV series that was delayed due to coronavirus and the latest one to get affected is our beloved Netflix original series “Stranger Things”.
The show’s production came to an unexpected halt, just weeks after filming began.
The wait for the show is now going to be even longer.
David Harbour Confirmed The News
Show’s star David Harbour confirmed that season 4 would face delays over coronavirus pandemic. Netflix also announced they are stopping the production of the series until further notice.
Stranger Things’ producer-director Shawn Levy calls the unwanted shutdown a “bittersweet moment” and “intense”. Levy further added the production was going well and it felt odd to stop when we felt like we were on a roll.
Fans Have Already Predicted The New Release Date
After hearing the news, the fans started predicting new release dates. Some fans believe they might have worked out the actual dates when the series will return in 2021, down to the exact day. One Reddit user suggested the series will return in mid-July of next year.
The first season became a surprise hit when it was released on July 15, 2016, so to bring the full series circle it may be released on July 15, 2021. It is rumoured to be the ‘Stranger Things’ last season.
Netflix Released A Teaser Of The Fourth Season Earlier This year
Netflix released an enticing teaser trailer of the fourth season in February this year. The trailer confirmed the return of David Harbour as Sheriff Jim Hopper; he was expected to die after the cataclysmic events of the third season. David also provided some insights about the fourth season during an Instagram stint. The third season was aired on July 4, 2019.
The show usually takes a one year gap in-between season, but the coronavirus shutdown means the show may not return until 2021.
