There is not much revealed for the plot of the movie. But we do have some information here and there. The film is said to be based in the 1930s era in Italy. The period is about the rule of leader Benito Mussolini.

And when Pinnochio comes around, he becomes used to the society and the culture around him. The story is the journey of self-discovery in a world where Pinocchio never received the love and care from his father.

Toro has also already said that he is going for a dark fantasy theme, so we may expect the story to be exciting and have a slight political edge.

We will have more clarity of the plot of the movie once the trailer is released.
