In a bid to finally do Philip Pullman’s work justice, BBC and HBO combined their parallel worlds for a replacement adaptation of His Dark Materials. Despite some mixed reviews and a decline in ratings, the two networks decided early to travel ahead with a second season, which suggests it’s already been filmed. Lin-Manuel Miranda, who plays Lee Scoresby, shared the following video on Twitter with the caption: “That’s a season 2 wrap on Lee Scoresby & Hester! you will see season 1 in November!”
Rather than risk Dafne Keen growing up too fast between seasons, BBC and HBO committed to both upfront, ensuring the 14-year-old star wouldn’t age much before filming for season two commenced. “It’s satisfying knowing we’ve another series,” Keen told. “We’re quite sure it’s getting to go well.”

His Dark Materials Season 2 Release Date: When Will It Air?
