We all are quite familiar with the commercial power of the Fast and the Furious franchise. The sheer commercial power of the franchise is so much so that. The delay in the movie has caused the game developers Codemasters share drop by six percent because the video game companion to the movie will have its release delayed as well.
Why is the Game Delayed?
Fast & Furious 9 otherwise simply known as F9, was originally slated to hit the screen on May 24, 2020. But due to the global Pandemic and consequent lockdowns had led the Universal studio to push the pause button on the release.
But this stood as big trouble for Codemasters as well. Codemaster was supposed to release Fast and Furious: Crossroads on May 24. However, The game was to be released as a side by side virtual adventure. Although, The game was supposed to complement the movie.
The game is developed by Codemaster a subsidiary of Slightly Mad Games. Moreover, The game is a Team-based, Vehicular heist action game. The game will feature extensive voice acting by the cast members. Like Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson.
What does the Future of the Game Looks like?
After Universal put a timer of 11-month delay on the Fast and Furious 9’s premiere, the Codemasters Group holdings described the release of the game as “Uncertain”.
In a statement released by the Codemasters on March 13, Codemasters PLC reassured investors. The company assured that the late release of the game would have no material impact as the game as the is now being anticipated to release for financial year FY21.
After plummet in the company’s stock, the market capitalization of the company dropped to a whopping $286.33million. Ouch!!.
With the massive increase in hardware capability. Bu the time Crossroads release the game it is going to look pretty wrinkly to around the eye. To be honest, the graphical quality of the crossroads that we have seen so far is already below average.
