Mike Tyson Appreciates Eminem’s Success, Says “F***ing Slaved”

Eminem is an icon in Hip Hop and music culture. Mike Tyson is a legendary boxer. They both meet at the filming of the Godzilla music video.

Careers

Eminem Marshall Bruce Mathers, professionally known as Eminem, is an American songwriter, record producer, and actor. It suffices to say that he is one of the most successful artists of the 21st century. He achieved mainstream popularity in 1999 with The Slim Shady LP. Eminem was compared to the likes of Elvis Presley at the time.

Further, On January 17, 2020, Mathers released Music To Be Murdered By, various guest appearances. The song Godzilla Ft. Juice Wrld, had a music video for it. Dr. Dre and Mike Tyson featured in the music video.

Michael Gerard, also known as Mike Tyson, is a former American professional boxer. He ruled as the undisputed world heavyweight champion; he holds the record for the youngest boxer to win the heavyweight title at 20 years.

Difficulties they faced

The duo has a lot of similarities. First, both of them are incredibly talented and are icons in their fields. Second, both had a rough childhood. Eminem’s family situation was terrible, and Tyson was arrested 38 times before he even turned 13 years old.

They discussed various issues, including family, life, and music, in the latest episode of Hotboxin’s podcast.

Eminem grew up in a poverty-stricken area of Detroit; his family was one of the only three white households in their area. He had problems, including drug abuse, which led to a suicide attempt. Tyson grew up in a very high crime area; he found boxing in a reform school where ex-fighter Bobby Stewart found him.

Eminem praised Tyson saying, “I’ve never seen anyone hit so hard. That’s gotta be something like… what is that?” He said that it wasn’t his strength but the ability to hit punches in the right places, which got him where he was.

Tyson responded to that saying Eminem got where he is by working for it, that nothing was handed to him. “You f***ing slaved for it; you know what I mean? You’re the only white guy that knows what it’s like to be a n***a.”

However, Eminem nervously laughed and replied: “Not sure how to answer that… You mean, I know, we all got our story.”
