A police officer kept on abusing a child for more than three years. The child is found to be less than 13 years old.
Felony Counts Of Rape Of A Girl Between 10-12 Years
Kevin C. Wright, a West Milton, Ohio police officer was jailed on February 10. He remains in the Miami County Jail on a grand jury indictment charging him with three felony counts of rape.
The 32-year-old former officer is accused of engaging in sexual activities with a minor between 1 August 2017, and 1 June 2018; 1 August 2018 to 1 June 2019 and 8 December 2019. The child was between the ages of 10-12 during the alleged crime.
Sworn In On October, Sent On Leave In December
Wright was sworn in as a West Milton police officer in October 2018, but, in just two months, he was placed on paid administrative leave. Paid, nonetheless. It started when an investigation was launched on December 10 by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office. West Milton police Chief Harry Busse said Wright was placed on leave because he was being investigated for some serious crimes.
But, as of Friday, this year, Wright was placed on unpaid administrative leave when the charges were served.
Navy Veteran But No Honor
Wright previously was in Covington Police Department and is also a Navy veteran. Being a Navy veteran is a massive thing of respect, and they have honor, but this man didn’t. The West Milton department said they had no issues with Wright before the investigation was launched.
Wright was finally jailed on the indictment after the charges were read on Friday in Miami County Common Pleas Court. It is not known how the officers got a hold of this news that led to an investigation. Even the child’s family is not known. He is to be arraigned Tuesday on the charges and can receive a hefty sentence.
