Under false or rather no pretenses, a man managed to get his girlfriend drive him to a police station. Where he then shot it up and injured some police officers. But now she is also accused and got jingled up in it. Her mother is distressed and asking for leniency.
Robert Williams didn’t tell his girlfriend(for rather obvious reasons), that he was going to shoot up a police station. He asked her to drive him somewhere and she did. The woman is Liza Valdez. Now Valdez’s mother has come forward defending the position of her daughter.
Williams reportedly told Valdez to drive him up to his mother’s house but got out and went into a precinct in New York. Police said she drove Williams to the stationhouse around 8 am on Sunday. He walked in and opened fire with a 9 mm handgun. He wounded the lieutenant by shooting him on the arm. Williams then surrendered when he ran out of bullets.
Valdez’s mother has come forward but has not used her real name. She has used a pseudonym ‘Virginia’. She said two of them came to her Evergreen Avenue apartment in Bronx on Sunday.
Virginia got to know about the whole situation and asked whether her daughter knew about this beforehand. To which, Liza said no she didn’t know. Virginia called her a “great woman”. Liza apparently is a college graduate and is also working somewhere. Valdez was questioned at the 41st precinct for hours on Sunday before being released. It is not known whether she would be called back or not.
Last night police officials said they would not comment on the situation of Valdez because the investigation is still underway. Whereas, Williams is also suspected in wounding of another Bronx cop on East 163rd Street that happened before the shooting at the precinct.
