San Leandro police encountered a lengthy chase recently but were successful in their devour in the end. A boy of 18 in San Leandro had ended up stabbing his mother’s boyfriend to death. Authorities are calling this attack unprovoked. The incident took place on Friday night at their San Leandro home.
After getting informed about the attack and the details of the offender, the police set out to catch the attacker. The 18-year-old boy ran after committing the crime. Police had to go on a lengthy chase to get hold of the boy and arrest him.
Boy Stabbed Elderly Multiple Times
The boy has been identified as Ty Bothwell-Mitlitsky. He stabbed his mother’s boyfriend, a 62-year-old man multiple times in their home. The killing took place in the house in which all three of them used to reside. The police have not disclosed the identity of the victim. The older man was rushed to the hospital where he was, later on, pronounced dead.
Boy Charged With First-Degree Murder
The boy has been charged with first-degree murder. He is currently being held at Santa Rita Jail. The exact motive behind the stabbing is unknown. Officials are investigating into the matter now. The attack has been classified as an unprovoked one. Police officials had not even found anything suspicious at the scene of the crime.
The mother witnessed the stabbing and she was the one who had reported the police about her son’s deeds. She had stated that her son had fled in a car after stabbing her boyfriend to death. The officials had found the boy at 3:30 am on Saturday. The boy initially didn’t pull over but, in the end, gave up and was then arrested.
