The 2018 case of brutal beating up of a woman with a hammer, has finally got its perpetrator. The woman eventually took the stand on Friday and testified against the criminal. It takes a lot to speak out the truth indeed.
The woman had managed to survive the brutal attack on her. The attack was deadly, but she managed to get over it now, she has completely gotten over it and in a way conquered it by testifying against the man who had projected her to so much trouble. This incident had taken place in Hawaii.
Woman Describes Horrific Incident
The woman came out in the open and talked about the horrific incident that she had to go through last year. the fact her boyfriend itself committed the crime, has added on to the shock. That very incident had left her with permanent bodily damage.
Grace Pineda, the victim, has to use a walker for walking. She even has visible injuries on her body. When she was testifying, she had asked that her face not be shown.
She told the jury that her then-boyfriend Kristopher Kalani said to her that he would kill her before hitting her with her hammer. She added that he beat her brutally, and she went from conscious to unconscious while enduring the pain. This incident has left her injured and broken, both mentally and physically.
“I remember the hammer coming towards my face and my teeth flying out,” said Pineda. She added, “It happened so fast, he threw me down.”
She also told the jury that she does not even remember how many times he hit her with that very hammer.
Boyfriend Pleaded Not Guilty
Even after Pineda coming out in the open with much courage, Kalani has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder. His trial continues Monday.
