Police in Torrance Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway acme across a scarce kind of crime. They came to know that certain pieces of mail were going missing every now and then. The police officials carried out investigations which led them to a very mysterious crime scene.
Police found hundreds of missing mail pieces from mailboxes in Torrance, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Costa Mesa. This revelation came on Friday.
4 Suspects Held
In light of this case, the police have gotten hold of 4 suspects concerned with this very crime. At 11:45 pm on Thursday, officers found a suspicious car. The car housed two women coming from a hotel near Torrance Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway in Redondo Beach. This car was then searched by the police.
“They found numerous items of mail belonging to other people. In addition to this there also existed a fishing tool used to drop into mailboxes to steal mail,” said Sgt. John Anderson, Redondo Beach Police.
Upon further investigation, the police came to know that there were two men involved in this theft. The two men were back at the hotel from where these two women had come in to retrieve the mail by theft.
Thus, officers reached the hotel room where the other two were housed and they were shocked to see that the room in which they were staying was full of more mail. They found a hundred pieces of mail in there.
Victims Spanned Across 4 Cities
As a result of having access to people’s personal information, these people thus had a lot of information regarding the personal lives of the victims. The victims spanned mostly four cities reportedly.
Police are not sure when this theft started. They are still digging up into the case. Currently, all four of them are under arrest.
