After the death of eth celebrated basketball player Kobe Bryant recently, there has been much chaos all over. While on one hand, his fans are all sad, on the other there are people who are dissing him. A recent controversial account in which host of CBS asked questions regarding Kobe Bryant’s rape case, has attracted much media attention.
This was criticized by many including rapper Snoop Dogg. Kobe was charged with rape of a 19-year-old in 2003 but the case was dropped because the accuser was not ready to testify. She had a lawsuit against the player but it was ended in a settlement.
The Controversial Interview
The interview had taken place between retired WNBA star Lisa Leslie on Tuesday with King. They had sat down together talk about Bryant’s legacy. The recent death of eth basketball star along with his daughter of 13 as well as a group of 7 other people has made headlines lately.
Then in between talks King brought up Bryant’s 2003 rape case. “It has been said that his legacy is complicated because of a sexual assault charge which was dismissed in 2003, 2004. Is it complicated for you, as a woman, as a WNBA player,” asked King.
To this Leslie replied by saying, “It is not at all complicated for me. There have been other basketball players who have tried to get me to play wing-man for them but Kobe was not that kind of a guy and he was never like that.”
King All Angry
King considered this kind of questioning inappropriate given the situation. “Is it fair to bring up his rape allegations after he died,” he said.
In his Instagram post, Snoop wrote, “Gayle King you are out of your pocket for that thing. Way out of pocket. What do you gain from that? We expect more from you, Gayle. Don’t you hang out with Oprah? Why are you all attacking us? We are your people.”
