A man has been put under arrest with charges of stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death inside a Southwest Philadelphia residence. The victim’s son witnessed the end of his mother. The accused, Marvin Scott, has been charged with murder, possession of an instrument of crime, and simple assault.
Victim Couldn’t Stand The Blow
Police mentioned that Scott had a furious fight with Rochelle Jackson, in her kitchen. This fight ended in Scott brutally stabbing his former lover in the neck. The crime took place on the 6000 blocks of Upland Street just after 2 a.m. Tuesday. When police reached the scene and medics examined her body, the 50-year-old mother was pronounced dead.
According to the Police, the victim’s 27-year-old son saw Scott stabbing his mother, and he was present in the house during the incident. When police arrived there around 2:30 a.m, the son was still fighting with the fifty-year-old murderer. Police arrested Scott around 12:30 p.m. on the 700 blocks of Race Street.
Near Ones Are Grief-Stricken
Friends of the deceased mentioned that there was a long history of domestic violence in the relationship between Scott and her. Shaney Reid said that the two had been together for about seven years. Jackson had to undergo mental abuse and physical torment while the relationship lasted. The woman had suffered a lot emotionally and, at last, given up. She got separated from Scott and left him alone. But he tried to come back. Jackson was not ready to let him move in. He couldn’t accept this and murdered her in a fit of rage.
Reid, who identified herself as the victim’s best friend, mentioned that Jackson’s son held Scott down until police reached the location. She adds that Scott has revealed signs of being weak as a man, not being able to take no for an answer. She thinks that just because her friend didn’t want him in her life, he had no right to take away her life.
