On Thursday, a retired police officer and his wife were found dead. Moreover, police identified the victims as LaRhonda Jones and Eric Jones. The two allegedly are victims in a sudden death investigation. The tragedy came to light when LaRhonda Jones failed to show up at her workplace.
The two victims showed signs of gunshot wounds
Besides, officials were dispatched to the Ledgewood Estates on Perkins Avenue. They responded early Thursday at the housing for a well-being check after no response. However, they didn’t expect to come across the horrific scene inside. Police found a man along with a woman dead inside the condo. The Jones’ were unresponsive, lying on the bed.
According to the police, both victims showed consistent injuries — moreover, a gunshot wound. Besides, cops also found a gun at the scene. Later, they went ahead and seized the weapon. While police did not declare a cause of death at the time, they finally have come up with a conclusion.

Eric remained on the New Haven Police department force for a considerable span of 20 years. However, he retired from power back in 2012. According to the New Haven public information officer, Shayna Kendall, Eric did not bring up any complaints regarding his work. He was in good standing with the department. Moreover, he didn’t have any disciplinary issues as far as her knowledge.
