The parents of a 16-month-old toddler face allegations after the couple left the child in an unlocked and running car. The couple went to a store in Humble, Texas, for gambling, as they abandoned the infant in the car.
During the same time, two teenagers saw the unlocked car and stole it. The teenagers are also facing charges, Harris County Sheriff’s Office claimed. On Sunday night, Kimberley Cook, 21, and, Anthony Blue, 29 left their 16-month-old toddler in a Chrysler 300 car at around 11.30 p.m., The reports claimed.
The Couple Went For Betting
The parents purportedly went to a Shell Gas Mart Store in Humble, Texas. They wanted to play eight liner machines, the electronic gambling games in the store, as per the Sheriff’s official statements.
According to the statements, Cook and Blue would regularly check on the toddler as the child was sleeping inside the running unlocked vehicle. Vincent Leon Cannady, and, Jabari Jonathan Davis, the 19 and 18-year-old suspects, saw the running car and decided to steal it. After midnight, the couple discovered that their vehicle was missing.
A park ranger near the MacGregor park, 20 miles away in Houston, saw someone walking through the Parking area at around 12.25 a.m. Harris County Sheriff, Sgt. Ben Beall said that the man firstly thought of an animal passing the parking lot.
Instead, it was not an animal, but the missing child. The toddler was wearing a onesie in the shivering cold night.
The Thieves Left The Child At Park
The cops believe that the two thieves left the child at the park, as per statements. The statement reads, “EMS personnel transported the child to a local hospital for observation and is in good condition.”
According to the Sheriff’s office, the cops caught the stolen vehicle a short time later, leading to a police accomplishment. The statement also claims that the Chrysler 300 finally stopped, and both the suspects were taken into custody. Cannady and Davis face allegations of auto theft and felony kidnapping, the authorities claimed. The parents also charged with child abandonment. Meanwhile, it is yet unclear if the individuals had legal depiction.
