Two suspects found the victim through social media. He was selling vape cartridges that contained THC, an active ingredient of Cannabis that gives high.
21-Year-Old With 15-Year-Old Accomplice
21-year-old Tyreik D.M Jackson was picked up on a warrant for aggravated battery with a firearm. He was reported with his 15-year-old accomplice during this heist. The teenager was taken into custody and was referred to the Robert Depke Juvenile Center.
One was luring in the seller by showing that they are just making a healthy purchase, but the other came in gun blazing. The shooting happened on January 6 and left a gunshot wound on the victim.
Worked Quickly To Find The Contact On Internet
Police Chief Kirk Henderson reported that the police officers and detectives worked tirelessly to identify the juvenile. Reportedly, he was the one who made arrangements on social media to purchase the vaping cartridges. They contained THC, which are found in Cannabis and are responsible for giving a high. Henderson said that the department was able to identify the shooter within hours of the crime, and that is commendable. While it was done through teamwork and hard work, they faced a little problem.
Police reported that he met the buyer on Elizabeth Avenue, and then Jackson came with a gun to steal the cartridges. The 21-year-old victim was shot in the back, and then the suspects stole the rounds and ran.
Found An Ambulance Just Around The Block
The victim survived and ran from the scene. He ran to the Sheridan Road and located an ambulance that was there on an unrelated call. They had to attend to someone else, but the victim was airlifted by the helicopter and dropped at the hospital. He was there treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police found Jackson and were taken into custody at 9 am on Thursday. He was found with a 9 mm Ruger handgun at the time of his arrest. His bond was set at $1 million after a list of charges. But the juvenile’s information is not public, and neither is his fate.
