The entire incident left a significant impact on the victim’s family. Besides, Rouhselang’s family opened up to the court. They spoke about the terrible impact their 17-year-old daughter’s death had on them. Melissa Wallace read one of her statements in the courtroom. She said that life goes on. However, for her, it’s put on hold until she sees Breana in Heaven.
Rouhselang’s father also admitted defeat and let out all his anguish and hurt. He said that Trejo showed no signs of remorse or regret at all. He doesn’t regret what he did. While the victim’s family still mourns the loss of their young teenage daughter and unborn grandchild, the other family has something different to say. Trejo’s family spoke about their son from a completely different side. They tried to highlight the good qualities of the teenage killer.
Adam Trejo, the killer’s brother, spoke well about him. “Aaron is the most loving, most caring, most persistent, most consistent person I know,” he said confidently. Adam Trejo also offered an apology to his dead girlfriend’s family. However, no kind of excuse can get their daughter back.
“There is no excuse for what I’ve done”, Adam said to the broken family. “Saying I’m sorry is not enough, but it’s all I can give”, he continued. Trejo pleaded guilty to murder and feticide and accepted his crime in October 2019. According to court records, the teen received a plea deal.
