The victim was liberated following a thrilling standoff in Brookside on Wednesday, which was captured in the body camera footage of the police. The investigators released the footage on Wednesday.
An eyewitness had called 911 and alerted dispatchers to an ongoing abduction on Sunday afternoon. The woman was found bleeding from the head and face. The police said in a statement that the woman was heard shouting, “help, he’s gonna kill me!” as the man pushed her into the van.

It raised suspicion in Police as the suspect ran off when Brookside patrol units saw the van passing by a local church and tried to stop it.
“Officers engaged in a vehicle pursuit. Additional units responded to assist. The suspect vehicle was able to stop the runaway car on Mt. Olive Rd, where they observed an injured female victim … being held against her will and forced to the floorboard by the suspect,” the police reported, “Officers pursued the vehicle and requested tactical response units to assist.” A rolling roadblock was set up, and the van was barricaded to stop it. The suspect supposedly had tried to run over a Brookside officer, but the officer shot into the truck and stopped any such attempts.
However, The suspect, Sean E. Sanders, admitted to kidnapping the victim against her will, assaulting her and trying to run over a police officer. He’s being held in the Jefferson County jail on a $191,000 bond.
