The Alibaba Global Shopping Festival was held at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, China. Taylor Swift looked fabulous as she took the stage at the 2019 Gala of the global shopping festival organized by Alibaba. The ‘You Belong With Me’ singer, aged 29 ensured that all eyes were on her as she performed her hit singles one by one on the stage.
She dressed in a silver bedazzled belted jacket and matching boots. They were embellished with geometric printing throughout. Maintaining her quirky display, the ‘Love Story’ singer tied in her bold outerwear with a clingy bodysuit. She enhanced the beauty of her extraordinary look with heavily-winged eyeliner, her signature crimson lipstick, and generous strokes of pinkish blusher.
She posted a picture on her Instagram and captioned it, “If it doesn’t fit, I still sits.”
Taylor’s energetic performance
With her blonde tresses kept loose, Taylor appeared in very high spirits as she left the crowd awestruck with her performance.
Adding even more glam to the performance, the ‘Me!’ hit-maker sang through a black sequinned microphone during her lively gig. A number of celebrities from China joined Taylor during her performance. Some of them were G.E.M., Hua Chenyu, Kana Hanazawa, Ju Jingyi, Li Ronghao, Luo Yunxi, Jackson Yee, Zhang Jie, and Zhang Yixing.
Alibaba’s Shopping Festival
Alibaba organizes its Global Shopping Festival every year. Their live show leads up to the biggest shopping day ever. Over 500 million people were expected to participate in this year’s global shopping spree. Last year over 400 million people took part in Alibaba’s 11.11. The gross merchandising volume crossed $30.8 billion. It broke the record of America’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined. ($24.2 billion)
Taylor’s latest album
The audience of the festival proved that Taylor Swift is as loved in China as she is in the United States. Her new album ‘Lover’ has topped more than 1 million in album-equivalent sales in its very first week. It was the most consumed album in terms of sales and streaming in the world.
The show at the Alibaba Shopping Festival served as a tune-up as Taylor plans to go on a tour in support of her album next year.
