Arrow fans rejoice! Fan-favorite character Arsenal will be back for the show’s eighth and final season. From photos released online, it looks like the last installment in the series will not disappoint fans.
Controversy Regarding Arsenal’s Return
Colton Hayes who plays Roy Harper a.k.an Arsenal has appeared on Arrow on-and-off from its debut season. He was a regular on the seventh season. But things got a little muddy when the actor hinted at him not being a regular on the final season. And also, pointing out that it wasn’t his decision.
This led to some controversy with fans complaining about the beloved character’s absence. Arrow is coming to an end after eight long seasons and an-almost decade long run. So, of course, the loyal viewers deserve to say they’re proper goodbyes to the characters.
Roy Harper Is Coming Back!
Thankfully, it looks like Harper will be making an appearance in the 8th season. It hasn’t been confirmed whether he will be a regular or a guest actor. And for that, we couldn’t be more excited! As Arrow’s Beth Schwartz put it, “We couldn’t have ended the show without having him back.”
This confirmation also gives rise to a lot of questions and theories. Will Oliver’s sister Thea and Harper finally make it work? The two have been breaking up and then patching up for the entire run of the show. They have always put the team first which made their relationship suffer.
Will Harper And Thea Make It?
But now with Arsenal’s return, fans are hoping for the couple to have their happy ending. As for Harper’s story, the photos show him to be far away from the superhero world. Diggle tracks Harper down and finds him living a normal life. He gives himself the name Jason (for Jason Todd?) and works as a mechanic.
But team Arrow needs his help. Diggle tries to recruit him back to the team for an important mission. Will he say yes? Or has Harper had his fill of violent superhero crusades for a lifetime?
Watch Arrow’s final season on The CW to find out! The episode will air on November 19th.
