Quarterback Colin Kaepernick recently posted a video of him working out. In the video, he is seen working out with Cleveland Browns star Odell Beckham Jr. Kaepernick has been out of the NFL since the end of the 2016 season. However, he remains in tip-top condition in hopes of returning to the NFL.

The Workout Drills

Kaepernick posted the video on Wednesday. His workout with Beckham took place at UCLA’s practice field back in July. In the video, he is wearing a black Nike ‘Kaepernick’ jersey. Also, he makes his trademark one-handed catches. He shared this video with his 3.4 million IG users. Previously, he had released a similar video last month. Moreover, the player has been reportedly training six days a week since being out of the league. Furthermore, he wakes up at 5 am to work out. Kaepernick posted the video on Instagram with the caption, “From putting in work predraft, to staying ready against the odds!”. Adding, “Love to my Brother @obj”.

Denied Work For 917 Days

Moreover, the video that he posted began with a graphic reading. “Denied work for 917 days”. This is a reference to how long the free-agent quarterback has been out of the league.  In March of 2017, he opted out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers. Since then he has not played in the league. Besides, back in February, he was the first to kneel during the national anthem showing his protest to racial inequality. Nonetheless, he accused the NFL owners of plotting to keep him out of the game. Since his protest, various NFL players have also continued to protest in the face of criticism from owners.

The free-agent filed collusion for grievance against the NFL in October 2017. In February 2019 NFL settled the lawsuit with Kaepernick for undisclosed amounts. Kaepernick last played during the 2016 campaign and finished with 16 touchdown passes to just four interceptions. Many NFL teams have struggled to find a competent quarterback. DeAndre Hopkins, the Houston Texans All-Pro receiver got mad last season. His team needed a quarterback. However, they did not reach out to Kaepernick. The debate on whether he belongs in the league still continues.
