Actress Kristen Stewart recently spoke to Harper’s Bazaar UK about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson. The couple avoided talking about their relationship publicly. She told the magazine that so much was taken from them that. In trying to control one aspect, they finally agreed upon not talking about it ever, because it was their relationship and they wanted to save it.
The It Couple
Before their breakup in 2013, Stewart and Pattinson. Were the It Couple of Hollywood, but they never spoke about their relationship in public or to the press. She said that their relationship was perceived as a product by the fans (referring to the Twilight Saga). They wanted the couple to be together so bad, that it didn’t feel like real life anymore. Stewart said that her intention was not to hide who she was or what she was doing in her life. She just didn’t want to become part of that tale for entertainment purpose.
Secrecy wasn’t always easy
Stewart spoke about her sexuality and mentioned. That she was advised to keep her sexuality a secret in order to save her career and all the success that she had gained.
She quoted “I was informed by an old school mentality, if you want to safeguard your career, your success and your productivity, and there are people in the world who don’t like you, and they don’t like that you go out with girls, and they don’t like that you don’t identify as a ‘lesbian’ and you also don’t identify as a ‘heterosexual.’ And people like to be aware of stuff, so what the fuck are you?”
The actress also recollected being told not to hold her girlfriend’s hand in public if she wished to get a Marvel movie. She expressed her reluctance to work with such people.
No label on sexuality
Talking about her sexuality, Kristen Stewart said that seeing the rise of broad-minded people and the straight-forward generation, inspired her to put no label on her sexuality. She doesn’t identify as lesbian or bisexual. She thinks that everyone is kind of getting to a place where they know a tad bit more about themselves every day. People are evolving and evolution is a weird concept. Everyone’s becoming incredibly ambiguous. Stewart thinks that all of this is simply marvelous.
