Fear the whisperers! Season 10 of the long-running zombie horror show is already being teased. AMC has announced that the first episode will air on Sunday, October 6. At varying times, every season of the AMC show has aired in October. The first season debuted at the end of the month and the last season premiered on October 7, last year. Fans expected the same for season 10 which was confirmed on a teaser trailer!
Which cast members will come back?
It’s probably safe to expect Norman Reedus to return as Daryl. He has appeared in almost every episode since season 1. He has become the new number one on the call sheet. So, he will be continually paid even if his character dies in next 3 years. A similar deal has been signed by co-star Melissa McBride for an estimated $20 million. Carol also looks set to return. The teaser for season 10 confirms that the whisperers are sticking around. It’s likely that both Morton and Hurst will return too.
Danai Gurira is in prolonged negotiations with the network. It is uncertain whether Michonne will sign up again for season 10. Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) will definitely not be seen in the new season. He left the show as he was influenced by familial commitments. However, he might have left a door open for return to season 10 as a director! He might also reprise the role of Rick for a series of standalone movie specials!
Any plot details?
The teaser is focused on the whisperers who wear the skin of the dead to disguise themselves. Eleanor (Yumiko) said in an interview that fans will not be disappointed by the new threat these baddies pose. Dan (Luke) added that whisperers are a really scary concept. They put a real chill up your spine that is reminiscent to a horror. According to the description published on AMC, they are preparing for a battle that may be unavoidable. A Whisperer War is probably coming! Kang has a ‘new vision’ for the show. The focus will be more on the ‘original stuff.’ Source material from the comics will be less adhered to. The original DNA of the show is about to change. The producers are trying to do 20 years. The comic has certainly done it. Are they going to challenge the Simpsons?
