Excitement is brewing in the air as anxious fans anticipate the unfolding drama of Riverdale’s forthcoming season 4. Earlier this year fans rejoiced after Netflix announced it will be bringing back the teen thriller series for another new season. It is expected to air on The CW in the USA on 9th October following which Netflix will air on the 10th.
However, fandom had to cope with another tragic news. Luke Perry, who played Fred Andrews’ character passed away after suffering a stroke at 52. Creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa indicated that the first episode of the new season, titled In Memoriam will pay tribute to Luke Perry and his character, Fred Andrews: “Probably the most important episode of Riverdale we’ll do this year, if not ever”, he writes on Instagram.
Currently, production on season 4 is on and in full swing.
Fans heaved a sigh of relief when the Black Hood and Gargoyle King plotlines were resolved. However, the finale flashed-forwarded to reveal Archie, Betty and Veronica burning their blood-stained clothes. As the clothes burn, Betty is heard reminding the other two not to speak about it ever again. This ending has left fans hanging on the edge with no explanations to follow up. There are endless speculations as to what happened and whether they actually murdered somebody.Whatever happened that bloody night, only time can tell.
The Heads Up From Comic Con And More!
The casts’ attendance at the San Diego Comic-Con led by creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa brought a lot of updates to light.
New casting announcements were made and stars like Shannen Doherty and Kerr Smith are set to be introduced in the initial episodes.
There will also be another flashback episode in the season as confirmed by Lili Reinhart and Sacasa. Set in the 1930s and 40s, it will probably bring to light the root cause of the Blossom-Cooper feud.
Ashley Murray who played Josie is also set to make a comeback on the show. Murray had officially left the show to star on the Josie spin-off show, Katy Keene which takes place five years in the future.
It has been revealed that Betty is in touch with the FBI and works closely with her half-brother, Charles to track down The Farm.
Jughead shifts to a new prep school through scholarship and comes to Riverdale only on weekends. That sure doesn’t sound good for Bughead.
Also reports are in that Smallville star, Sam Witwer will play the new role of school teacher, Mr.Chipping, who is “inspiring” yet has a dark aura about him. A Mysteriously dark and handsome teacher. Can we wait any longer?!!
