Brad Pitt and Quentin Tarantino are coming together after 2009 and here’s why.
Brad Pitt worked with Quentin Tarantino in 2009 for Inglorious Basterds. The movie still remains to be one of the finest works of Brad Pitt. While also adding to Tarantino’s masterpiece treasury. However, most would think that it is because of their past history together that the duo came back again.
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is Tarantino’s next cult drama.
The movie along with Brad Pitt also stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie.
Tarantino had invited Pitt over to his place in order to talk about the movie and his character. But due to a coincidence, Tarantino figured that Pitt had already understood his character. Without any help of the director, Pitt was able to unravel the layers of the character. He figured what exactly is it that Tarantino wants. Which made it obvious for the director that Pitt is best fitted for playing the character.
The role that Tarantino fixed for Pitt was of a stuntman Cliff Booth. It was about this stuntman that the director wanted to speak with Pitt. So he could tell him all that it is for Pitt to know about Cliff. So that he can easily fit into the role’s mould. Which is why as Pitt came to his house the both sat down for the screening of a 1971 drama of Tom Laughlin in the movie called Billy Jack.
However, it so happened that even Pitt had brought the movie’s copy with him. The 1971 action drama stars Laughlin in the lead. Tom plays a Vietnamese war hero who is also a martial arts expert.
It was due to this coincidence that the director figure Pitt had understood his character.
Tarantino’s and Pitts like minds thus became the reason that Pitt landed the role of Cliff. While watching the movie in a 35mm reel. The duo spoke about the character and the way Cliff spent most his life under the shadows of the actors for whom he worked as a stuntman for.
The movie was screened for the Cannes Film Festival in May.
Where the critics spoke highly of the movie. Calling it another one of Tarantino’s masterpieces. Which only means that we don’t need to expect anything less than that of a Tarantino classic. With various cuts, the movie has gone under. Tarantino’s only motive was to make the movie a general publics favourite.
The movie is set in the 1960s following the Manson Family Murders. It is scheduled to release on the 9th of August 2019 in India
