Hugh Hefner’s son Cooper, 27, is leaving Playboy. He is stepping down 18 months after taking over from his late father. He is now planning to launch news site HefPost. The main objective of the site is proposed to ‘arouse and inform’ millennials with sex-focused content.
However, Cooper’s site will be launched next year. The site as mentioned will mainly focus on millennials. The new site is titled as HefPost. It is claimed that the new website will fuse ‘sophisticated content’ with the news. Also, it will cover sex-related topics in an unapologetic way.
However, Cooper Hefner will remain as a part on the board of the company. The young man took over from his father after his September 2017 death. After his stepping down, CEO Ben Kohn will be taking the reins.
Moreover, breaking the news, he posted, ‘During the first week of May I will be stepping away from my senior executive role at Playboy Enterprise.’ Cooper posted it on Twitter Friday. He further added, ‘I will continue providing support in a board capacity as an adviser to the company’s CEO. While the decision was difficult to come to, it is the right decision to make.’
Further, Cooper continued in another tweet: ‘The spirit and values of our Rabbit remain with me always, as I with it. I look forward to sharing more about a new venture soon. More to come.’
Although, Playboy is an American men’s lifestyle and entertainment magazine. It was founded in Chicago in 1953. The founder of the magazine is Hugh Hefner and his associates. It was funded in part by a $1,000 loan from Hefner’s mother.
However, the magazine is notable for its centerfolds of nude and semi-nude models (Playmates). It is also worth mentioning that Playboy has a vital role in the sexual revolution. Also, it remains one of the world’s best-known brand. It has now grown into Playboy Enterprises, Inc. (PEI), with a presence in nearly every medium.
