British Prime Minister Theresa May is left with no choice but to pass the Brexit deal. Also she can come up with an alternative by April 12 after European leaders root against the deal.
May told reporters that she was satisfied with the extension. She said it was now “very clear” what the options and deadlines are for British lawmakers.
“What the decision today underlines is the importance of the House of Commons passing a Brexit deal next week. So that we can bring an end to the uncertainty and leave in a smooth and orderly manner,” she said.
The Brexit deal and EU leaders have been tough on May from the very beginning. Once She lost 130 votes and next 240 votes.
Leaders felt that she was totally off topic and she didn’t know what she was proposing with Brexit deal.
French President Emmanuel Macron said that, “British politicians are unable to deliver what the people asked them to do. The people voted for Brexit, but we are in a different situation. Here the British Parliament is telling us they are not voting for the agreement we negotiated for two years.”
Extension to April 12 opens a lot of doors for the Europeans. They may have a deal, no deal, a long delay or canceling Brexit.
However, economists and political analysts have warned that a no-deal Brexit could result in the halting of trade and travel and a hit to the British and European economies.
