A Kittitas county sheriff killed in shooting


On Tuesday evening, in the city of Kittitas, a county sheriff got killed around 7:45. Another sheriff was injured in the same. Deputies were called to a driving complaint in the Badger Pocket area of Kittitas County. At about 7:45 p.m., deputies tried to stop the vehicle involved but the driver failed to stop. Deputies chased the suspect into the city of Kittitas.

The official’s names are not revealed yet. Investigators said when the vehicle stopped, the suspect exited the vehicle and exchanged gunfire with a Kittitas County sheriff’s deputy and a Kittitas police officer. The deputy was shot and died from injuries at Kittitas Valley Hospital. The officer was shot and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. The suspect was also shot and was taken to Kittitas Valley Hospital. Ellensburg police told the suspect later died. According to a local news channel, names will be released soon.
